I am proud to announce the thisisnotalabel.com Computer Music Anthology 2008!
The ThisIsNotALabel.com Computer Music Anthology 2008 is a collection of works by young, student and/or outsider composers. It is a volume of work that will be distributed for free from thisisnotalabel.com with the goal of promoting electronic and computer music by unestablished composers. There will also be a focus on work that the composer cannot or will not distribute using traditional media (interactive, generative ... etc). Accepted submissions will earn a write-up from thisisnotalabel.com and other participating blogs, as well as inclusion in the 2008 anthology.
Guidelines for submission:
-Open to all electronic and computer music, but submitters are encouraged to submit newer work and work that cannot be distributed via CD or DVD
-Open to all composers, but the focus is on young, student and outsider composers
-Open to all formats: music, music+video and even executable formats - the format of submission will be the format of distribution (unless the files are excessively large) - composers of generative and/or nondeterministic works are encouraged to submit EXEs or MAX patches or ...
-There is no upper limit on how many pieces will be accepted
-Submissions will only be accepted via email to evan (at) [thisisnotalabel] (dot) com.
-For large files, upload them to a file-sharing service such as drop.io, then just email a link.
-Submissions must include: name (of composer and piece), email, phone number, date composed, composer URL (if applicable), list of technology used, and one paragraph about how and why the piece was written
The deadline for submission is December 1st, 2008.
